Written by Natalie Jarrin

For nearly a century, Tampa Theatre has been the backdrop for countless love stories, making it the perfect setting to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Whether you’re reminiscing about a first date under the twinkling starry ceiling or imagining your own Hollywood moment under the iconic marquee, this Valentine’s, Tampa’s most romantic movie palace invites you to renew your vows and enjoy an evening of cinematic magic.

The Romance of Tampa Theatre:

Step inside Tampa Theatre, and you’ll find yourself transported to another era. With its ornate details, atmospheric lighting, and whimsical charm, the vintage architecture creates an ambiance that explodes romance. It’s no wonder the theatre has become a cherished part of love stories in Tampa Bay. This Valentine’s, couples can once again experience this timeless magic as they renew their vows in an unforgettable ceremony.

Valentine’s Vows: A Ceremony Unlike Any Other

The massive vow renewal will be officiated by Tampa Theatre President & CEO John Bell, who is lovingly referred to as the Right Reverend Bell for the occasion, at 7:00 PM on Valentine's Day. His playful and romantic vow script, peppered with nods to iconic movie quotes, makes the ceremony both heartfelt and fun. Whether you’ve been married for decades or are looking to tie the knot on the spot (marriage license required!), this event promises to leave you and your partner swooning.

A Silent Film for a Starry Night:

Following the ceremony, guests will be treated to a screening of Buster Keaton’s 1923 silent comedy Our Hospitality. The story of a family feud, a budding romance, and Southern traditions offers the perfect blend of humor and heart. Accompanied by a live score performed by nationally renowned organist Steven Ball on Tampa Theatre’s Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ, the film provides a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience for movie-lover couples.

Big Picture: Love on the Rocks
